Eleanor Birne
Eleanor Birne acquires and publishes twelve to fifteen non-fiction and literary fiction titles a year.
Before joining John Murray she worked at Macmillan Publishers and at Duckworth Publishers.
Before becoming an editor she worked as a bookseller at Waterstone's.
Outside her work, she writes the occasional book review, mainly for the London Review of Books.
She loves voice-driven narrative non-fiction and fiction.
She likes to learn about people's lives, families and pasts -- often through memoir but also through fiction.
She also likes to publish entertaining or unusual titles in the areas of popular reference and gift.
Eleanor Birne is currently on maternity leave.
