Eleanor Birne
Eleanor Birne acquires and publishes twelve to fifteen non-fiction and literary fiction titles a year.
Before joining John Murray she worked at Macmillan Publishers and at Duckworth Publishers.
Before becoming an editor she worked as a bookseller at Waterstone's.
Outside her work, she writes the occasional book review, mainly for the London Review of Books.
She loves voice-driven narrative non-fiction and fiction.
She likes to learn about people's lives, families and pasts -- often through memoir but also through fiction.
She also likes to publish entertaining or unusual titles in the areas of popular reference and gift.
